Big Sky, Montana is a Rocky Mountain ski resort area near Yellowstone National Park. Pet friendly lodging welcome the family dog or cat to travel along on vacation.

Big Sky, Montana, is a place of wide open spaces and never-ending blue sky. Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin are exciting ski destination that attract skiers from around the world. Big Sky is located just 48 miles north of Yellowstone National Park's western entrance. Pet friendly lodging allows the family dog or cat to travel along on a mountain vacaton.

The following three lodges allow pets with an additional fee. Most hotels request that pets be kept leashed and that pets not be left unattended in guest rooms.

  • 320 Guest Ranch. The guest ranch is situated on a parcel of land along the Gallitan River that was homesteaded in the late 1800's. In 1936 the ranch was purchased by a pioneering female doctor, Dr. Caroline McGill. The doctor was an avid hunter and fisher, who believed that time spend outdoors was physically and mentally healthy. She purchased the ranch as a retreat for her friends and family. Today the ranch has the capacity to accommodate over 200 guests in a variety of different cabins. The original homestead is now part of the 320 Steakhouse. The steakhouse serves satisfying, gourmet food, such as beef steaks, elk medallions and buffalo strips. Pets are allowed. The pet fee is $10 per pet, per night.   • Best Western Bucks 4-T Lodge. The lodge welcomes guest with a warming fire in the stone hearth fireplace. The big game trophies and antique sporting gear are vestiges of the lodge's beginning as a hunting and sporting lodge. Guest room amenities include a microwave , refrigerator and free wireless Internet. Full hot breakfast is included. Pets are welcome with an additional charge of $10 per night.   • Rainbow Ranch Lodge. The history of the lodge dates back to the early 1900's, when it was a dude ranch and stop off point between Bozeman and West Yellowstone Park. Lodge rooms and cabins overlook the Gallatin River. Today the lodge is a sophisticated paradise with luxurious amenities. The outdoor hot tub offers a relaxing place to dream while enjoying the panoramic surrounding mountain views. The historic barn, covered deck and river rock gazebo grill create a perfect venue for summer weddings and special events. The restaurant has been called one of the best restaurants in the Rockies by Forbes Life Magazine. Gourmet entrees include mesquite-grilled North American elk tenderloin, Pan-Roasted double R Ranch Beef Tenderloin and sweet butter poached Maine lobster. Dogs are welcome at Rainbow Ranch.
